It is a poor idea to lie to yourself...

We all lie; it's human nature.I define a lie as a false information that we give  in order to deceive somebody.A lie can  have negative consequences when it is told to somebody else. But when it is to ourselves; it can even be worse.

When we lie to ourselves; we are lying to what makes us "unique"; to what makes us who we are; our nature. The world is filled with different people; with different views; behaviour and values. When we are trying to adapt to a specific situation or to an environment; we might change our behaviour and values.

It is a poor idea to lie to ourselves as our true feelings will come up whether we like it or not. It reminds me of the saying "what is bred in the bone; will come out in the flesh". We can't lie to ourselves; the truth will sooner or later come out and might even create more damage.
